First Impressions Last with White Knight’s Expanding Work Wear Service
Wednesday, August 02, 2006

White Knight Laundry and Dry Cleaning Services announces the expansion of its work wear division with the appointment of Ellie Wharton from Sales Executive to Key Account Manager. This expansion reinforces the company’s ideology of the importance of customer care and contract retention.
White Knight’s work wear division was created to supply a premium work wear service to organisations that require staff to be dressed in a smart, consistent manner. The Key Account Executive, assisted by the new Sales Executive, will be responsible for providing everything from pristine, well-presented uniforms for the hotel, leisure commercial business sectors, to hardwearing, protective clothing for industrial applications.
Under a work wear contract, the customer has three options: White Knight purchases the work wear on their behalf and launders it on a regular basis; the customer buys the uniforms outright with laundering included or the purchase-only option, where the customer purchases work wear from White Knight without a laundering service.
Other services offered by White Knight’s work wear division include client consultation that ensures work wear conforms to industry health and safety regulations; a tailor-made service if a regular-sized uniform does not fit a member of staff; a locker management service which includes the set up of employee lockers, collection of soiled uniforms, laundering and return of work wear to lockers; a washroom service such as the provision of roller towels and air fresheners and the supply of items like first-aid kits and dust-control mats.
“White Knight manages our employee locker system, cleans staff uniforms and supplies provisions for the washrooms,” says Mark Hull, Materials Manager at Harmsworth Quay Printing (HQP) Ltd, Surrey Quays, London.
“It makes a big difference when our staff t-shirts and trousers are washed and ironed in the same place - it means presentation is consistent and everyone looks that touch more professional. We wholeheartedly recommend it.”
Rental and commercial contracts last for 24 months with all work wear selected by White Knight and guaranteed to last for two years. If, under normal working conditions, there is a problem with the work wear, it will be replaced free-of-charge. White Knight also offers free zip replacement, alterations and repairs as part of the service.
Spearheading the division is the Key Account Manager for work wear, Ellie Wharton, under the supervision of National Sales Manager for business-to-business, Chris Williams. Mr. Williams says “We are pleased that a growing number of customers are taking more pride in the look and personal welfare of their employees, hence the expansion of our team. First impressions last and a member of staff wearing a spotless, well-ironed uniform will definitely impress!”
